What My Hands Have Found To Do

Hand embroidering portraits feel very intimate; as if I know the couples that I've done, except I don't.

Latest Embroidered Portrait

I can't describe it. Every time I make one of these portraits, I feel as if I were born to do them. Like it's my calling or something.
I make it a point to also challenge myself with each new portrait I create by adding more details than I had with my previous ones.

This particular one was delivered in time for Valentine's. It was such a privilege to embroider 1 John 4:19 on it too because here lies the root of love.

The rest are portraits I've done but never posted on here before.
Apparently too, I had been silly and haven't been documenting them on my camera, so all these were shot with my iPhone.

Fit ladies

Headed to the botanic gardens this morning while waiting for some blood work results, and there were these bunch of ladies in a class working out on the field.
They were the most interesting subjects to draw, so draw them I did.

Cat Cushion Workshop

Last Saturday, I'd spent a really nice afternoon at Within teaching a bunch of ladies how to whip up some cat cushions for themselves.

It was such a gorgeous space and I'd especially loved the courtyard. Too bad I'd only taken one photo of it - and with my phone too. Silly.
