The proper ornaments

Jian and I got up to printing more of my Catawampus Bags today.

Once our 'shop' site is up, these will be up for sale :)

It is that I have much to be thankful for.
Nothing is fixed, yet the possibility of several scenarios are high, and all is likely.
Truth is, while we were down here painting canvases, someone's up there painting the skies.

Sew Project #003

I've been eyeing this whimsy fabric, designed by Åsa Ekström, at Ikea for a while now. I finally bought it on Sunday, with the idea in mind of making curtains >> Ta-Dah!

My inexperience has caused me to purchase a lack of fabric. I have forgotten to add length to the dimensions of my window measurements, hence, making 5-cm-too-short! curtains.

Still, I'm rather pleased with myself. The rings were initially a tiny bit tedious, but eventually, I got the hang of it. (Difficulty level rises whenever Lights dives into my work.)

Here's a picture of Lights playing in it pre-made. She just loves fabric.

Latest addition to the family

Bowie, Lights, Jian & I

We got a pot of my favourite flower from Ikea yesterday.
Today, it bloomed it's third head!

The Giving Tree

Jian and I had the lovely opportunity to do voluntary work by painting murals for YWCA. Painting murals has always been something in my life I hoped to do - what d'you know? God has wonderfully put it in my path.

Phillane has been working with YWCA for a while now in regards to this project. Long story short - she needed helpers, we lent our hands. Phillane developed a plantation concept for this particular room and we were to execute it. The entire painting took roughly 20 hours in a span of 3 days. By the end of it, my painting hand was sore and my knees went weak. It was a challenge, alright. Biggest painting/collaboration Jian and I have ever done, but I do think we did well, even if I should say so myself.

Front of the room (apple trees)

Back of the room (orange trees)

We just couldn't resist "carving" our initials into the trees like old world romantics do.

Huge room, huge project; but, things are somehow always easier with this man by my side, xx.

Words I should have been speaking long ago

Hear, Disciples of the "Television"
living in a continuum of influences.
Pick your vices, pick your liberation.
Is you still Are?
Or, is you Were? You're-

Back into the moving picture,
Life stands still and so does the River.
Say "Yes" to the shackles, or "Yes" to the slaughter.
Poverty will come if you don't choose the latter.

Independence is a lie, run by it you're sure to die.
Tune your senses, channel your mind
to the antecedent that's deep inside.

Excavate it, shovel as heart,
you'll find that Knowledge.

It'll impart.

Hold Your Horses

We can plant and we can water,
but we do not make things grow.

It bids me fly

Yi-xuan came over yesterday and we wrote a song! Well, more or less. Isn't completed, but here's a listen. Nothing professional or anything of that sort. Hope you like it! :)
